New Recommendations to Prevent Maternal Suicide

CDPH MCAH

We're sharing important new recommendations from California's Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health Division to help prevent maternal suicide—a leading cause of pregnancy-related deaths.

These guidelines were created by the California Pregnancy-Associated Review Committee (CA-PARC), bringing together healthcare providers, community advocates, and experts who carefully reviewed maternal deaths to understand how we can better protect mothers.

They've developed two practical factsheets with specific guidance:

  1. Recommendations for Agencies, Organizations and Institutions

  2. Recommendations for Perinatal Providers and Facilities

Join us in this vital work. Review these recommendations, consider how they might fit into your practice or organization, and share them with your partners. Together, we can save lives.
